This is a great time to get involved at Oxleas by joining our member community.

We want to involve a wide range of people and communities in developing and improving Oxleas’ services through our membership. As a Foundation Trust, we are accountable to the communities we serve, and our members are the voice of these communities. 

Our members also have a voice in wider discussions about local NHS services through our involvement in the South East London Integrated Care System (ICS). 

Our members and governors are at the centre of our organisation. They are our eyes and ears and provide us with feedback, local knowledge and support. As a member you can be involved as much or as little as you choose. Our governors, with the support of our members, ensure our work is in keeping with our values – we’re kind, we’re fair, we listen, we care.

 

Membership is free and you can join if you are aged 14 and over and/or:

• Live in England – join our Public constituency
• Have used Oxleas services or cared for someone who has used Oxleas services in the last five years – join our Service User/Carer (patient) constituency and select a special interest group relevant to the services you use
• You are an Oxleas employee - as a member of Oxleas staff, you automatically become a member of our Staff constituency on joining Oxleas.  Staff can opt-out if they wish.

As a member, you can influence how our trust develops and stay up-to-date with what’s happening at Oxleas. You have a voice in shaping how we provide and improve our services and the decisions we make, as well as access to a range of opportunities to get involved, including: 

• the latest information and opportunities from our Membership team (to fully benefit from your membership, please provide an email address)
• our membership newsletter, Engage
• invitations to events, such as our Annual Members’ Meeting, member health events and more
• sharing your views on our services and Oxleas in general, to help influence how we develop, and more widely about health and social care in south-east London.
• helping us test our ideas by giving your views on new services, projects, and plans
• getting tips to help keep you well and active
• getting to know our governors and ask them questions. 
• standing as a governor or voting for your governor via our governor elections (if over 16 years of age) – some restrictions apply 
• adding your membership to your CV when job searching as an example of getting involved in your local community and in particular, the NHS
• receiving exclusive offers and discounts

Associate membership is open to local third sector organisations and businesses in Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich. Membership is free. Becoming a member means that your organisation/business will receive regular information from us about our services, be invited to events, and we can help publicise your work in our service information area and/or intranet.

We also want to talk to you about:

• Work opportunities - paid, voluntary and apprenticeships for our service users who have experienced health problems
• Discounts, concessions or special offers you may be able to offer to our staff and/or members
• Opportunities for partnership working, for mutual promotion of our services and increasing our membership.

Associate members do not have voting rights but do have access to all other benefits available to our staff, public and service user members.
